Request for Nominations
We are soliciting nominations for the position of ILUG Vice-Chair/Chair elect, 1996-1997. This person will be assisting Richard Jost who is our current chair elect. If you know of individuals whom you think would provide good leadership and be willing to serve in this capacity, please forward their names to me.
Draft of Proposed By-Laws for ILUG
You may recall that at the Pittsburgh meeting, our outgoing chairperson, Celeste Feather announced that as of 1994, ILUG is filing both federal and California tax returns. Given the official existence of ILUG for tax purposes, Celeste suggested that it was time our group had bylaws. I have enclosed a draft copy of our proposed bylaws. Our aim is to cover the basics of how we conduct business without becoming overly bureaucratic. It is quite a challenge to draft appropriate bylaws. Many thanks to Elizabeth Moore of Loyola University Law Library, New Orleans for her time in preparing this draft. I look forward to hearing any comments or suggestions you have before the next mailing when I plan to send out ballots requesting that member libraries vote to adopt bylaws for ILUG.
New ILUG Web Site
Martin Wisneski has created a web site for ILUG which will provide information about our group and facilitate sharing of III documentation created by our members. We hope that you will be willing to forward Martin copies of documentation that your library has created for users of your local Innovative system. Alternatively, if you notify Martin of the URL where your documentation currently resides, Martin can establish a link from the ILUG site to your documentation. Mark Gooch from Cleveland State has offered to help Martin with this project. OPAC guides, cataloging manuals, check-in training manuals, lists of systems codes and circulation guides would make great contributions. Thank you for your time Martin and Mark.
Half Day Workshop at AALL Annual Meeting in Indianapolis
Saturday, July 20th, 1996
We plan to hold a half day workshop similar in format to the Pittsburgh workshop at a conference hotel on the Saturday morning before the ILUG Business Meeting. Please let me know if there are any topics you would like to see covered in the workshop. I will have more information about the workshop next spring.
