Statement:
My long experience as a library staff member has given me a good sense of how important it is to maintain a good group spirit and to get the details of the work flow right; also how helpful (or the reverse) the library's system can be in these matters. I was a student worker with the Law Library when the III system was introduced in 1985, and I have seen the entire development of the III system in the Columbia Law Library, though only recently from a more complete perspective. As systems coordinator I have gained experience in working with gifted computer science students in crafting automated scripting solutions to various problems of library production. Later this year I will be getting the load table training from Innovative.
I know that it is very important that the law libraries be a real presence in the IUG and with III, and would work hard with you to maintain that presence.

Statement:
ILUG has a strong history of serving the law library community by affording us the chance to network with one another, explore the software's capabilities and features, share our tips and tricks, and advocate for improvements with a unified voice. If elected as Vice Chair/Chair Elect, I plan to continue to meet these important goals via ILUG's well-established traditions (the annual luncheon at IUG and annual meeting at AALL) and multiple channels of communication (ILUG list, website, and periodic newsletters), but remain open to improving and expanding upon this successful formula as opportunities arise. I have much relevant experience and many valuable skills to offer as the ILUG Vice Chair/Chair Elect. My experiences with III software over the past six years are many and varied. In addition to being a practicing cataloger, I am a librarian at a relatively small library, which requires me to perform public service as well as system administration duties. Thus, I regularly use almost all modules of III software, in both Millennium and text-based versions. As my service and publication activities demonstrate, I am active and involved in the field of law librarianship in general and experienced at serving my profession at the local, regional, and national levels. For these reasons, I look forward to using my III software knowledge and experience, my creativity, and my organizational, administrative, and communication skills to serve ILUG's members as we continue to network, explore, share, and advocate together.
