Sarah J. Boling OR Melanie Cornell

Candidate for Vice Chair/Chair Elect:
Sarah J. Boling

Statement:

I have worked in technical services and systems positions at academic law libraries for 16 years. I have been a member of the IUG since my first Innopac installation in 1994, and have attended eleven of the thirteen past annual conferences. When I first implemented an Innopac system, it was a text-based database product using Wyse-50 terminals. As the product developed to its present state, I have implemented in their turn a Web OPAC, the AirPAC, Media Management, Metafind, WebBridge, the XML Harvester, and an ever-growing collection of system customizations. The ILUG has always been an essential source of support to me and my colleagues. I would welcome the opportunity to be of service in its continued valuable work.

Statement:

In my current position in a private academic law school setting, I am primarily responsible to enable smooth workflows among all staff utilizing our Millennium modules, consistent with current and changing cataloging practices, our bibliographic utility (OCLC), outsourcing options, authority control, and using Web Access Management to provide remote access to selected online resources. I am a member of our library's Collection Management, Automation, and Public Services teams. I am also a member of our library's "One Box Team," created to make recommendations regarding viable alternatives to federated search products. I enjoyed being a member of IUG's Program Committee for IUG 2004. Our library has been a member of ILUG since 1999.
