Shannon S. Burchard OR Lucinda Harrison-Cox
Candidates for Vice Chair/Chair Elect
Shannon S. Burchard
I have been working on Innovative systems for over ten years. My first involvement was at the University of California, Riverside where I worked as a student assistant to the systems librarian. In those days, we were on a first name basis with most if not all of the help desk staff at Innovative. After graduating and moving to San Francisco, I began working at the University of San Francisco as a library assistant and became the key contact for the law library in the implementation of the University's first online system. At USF, I became very involved in pushing the features of our III system and shared many of these experiences at the first IUG at the Claremont. After completing library school, I went on to the University of Delaware, a NOTIS library at the time. There I found myself pining for the serials capabilities of III. Boy was I surprised to find myself two years later returning to San Francisco and implementing my second III system. After bringing the San Francisco Law Library online and planning the reorganization of the collection by LC call number, I returned to the University of San Francisco Law Library where I have found myself implementing Millennium.
If elected ILUG Chair, I would work to continue the good work of those before me. Working together we can push our systems to new heights. I am honored to be considered for your next ILUG Vice Chair.

Lucinda Harrison-Cox
Hello, I've been working with integrated III systems since 1993 and worked with one of the competitors for a number of years before coming to a III library. I still like working with online systems despite the amount of time I spend bewildered, confused, and generally dazed. As nice as it is to see our students experience the "aha!" moment when things start to make sense, this is the part of my job where I get to experience my "aha!" moments. Mind you, they'd be fewer and further between if it weren't for organizations like ILUG and the members who so generously share their knowledge.
I'm running for Vice Chair/Chair Elect in part because someone believed I could do the job and nominated me. However, if I did not think that I could properly do the job, I would never have agreed to run. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to pay back some of those generous individuals who have helped me. I have lots of experience and I'm a good organizer. If elected, I look forward to working with Sarah Boling as Chair and with the membership generally. Thank you for your consideration.
